3. Cut the pieced square in half diagonally once to create 2 setting triangle blocks as shown.

4. Repeat Steps 1–3 to make a total of 12 setting triangle blocks.

Note: Handle bias edges carefully when piecing and pressing.

QUILT CONSTRUCTION

O Tannenbaum assembly diagram

1. Arrange Blocks A and B as shown in the O Tannenbaum quilt assembly diagram, adding the setting triangle blocks and corner triangles to complete the quilt top.

2. Pin and sew the blocks into 7 diagonal rows. Press the seams in opposite directions from row to row.

3. Pin and sew together the rows. Press open the seams.

4. Using a rotary cutter and ruler, trim any excess fabric from the setting triangle blocks, leaving ¼˝ from the block corners for a seam allowance.

QUILTING AND FINISHING

1. Cut the backing fabric into 3 pieces, each 99˝ × WOF. Remove the selvages and sew the pieces together using a ½˝ seam. Trim to create a backing 99˝ × 99˝. Press the seams to one side.

2. Follow the instructions for Starboard Quilting and Finishing.
